Call for Poster Presentations
PREPARATION OF ABSTRACTS
Abstracts are required for all posters.
Deadline for submission of abstract: Monday 31 March 2008
Abstract:
The Abstract should comprise three paragraphs (Title; Authors; and Abstract), laid out as in the following example. Please follow the guidelines below.
The title of your Abstract (14 pt Times New Roman)
Author, F. (1) & S. Author (2)
(1) Department of Environmental Biology, Adelaide University, South Australia 5000; (2) South Australian Museum, Adelaide, South Australia 5000.
(12 pt Times New Roman)
Abstract: Maximum 300 words (12 pt and justified)
Please italicise the Genus species names, and also indicate the kind of organism by including an appropriate common name and/or higher taxon.

Poster Presentation Details
1. Display panel dimensions are horizontal 1.8m (wide) x 1.2m (high).
* There will be 4 posters per board [2 on each side of the board]
* Poster Size: 1.2 meters (high) by 0.9 meters (wide)
* Poster Orientation: Portrait
* Poster Text: While there are no specifications for text/font size, the text should be easy to read at a distance of 1.5 - 2 metres (between 16-20 point).
2. Your material will be attached to the panels by means of velcro patches which will be supplied by the conference organisers.
3. Poster Tips
* The poster title should be at the top of the poster and should include the presenter(s) name(s).
* Body of Poster: Use arrows, numbers or letters as required to indicate the reading order.
* Use clear labels for each section of your poster.
* Font: Use lettering that can be read from 1.5 meters away eg. Arial or Comic Sans Serif

Is your poster reader-friendly, clear and concise?
Am I drawn to this poster?
Can colleagues quickly examine the poster and understand major points?
Would an interested reader learn enough to ask informed questions?
Does it stimulate interest and conversation?
